Three Gamecocks Earn MOP Honors on the Road at #5 Texas A&M
COLLEGE STATION, TX – South Carolina Equestrian continued their tour of Texas on Friday, facing the No. 5 Aggies of Texas A&M. The Gamecocks put up a fight against the SEC foe, but ultimately fell 13-6. Despite the loss, three Gamecocks grabbed MOP honors, including junior twins Grace & Sarah Rabb, and Alexis Potts.
HOW IT HAPPENED
Things got started on the Flat, with the Aggies just edging out that battle 3-2. Natalie Jayne earned the first point of the day for the Gamecocks, defeating Londyn Samlaska 85-79 on Envy. Sarah Rabb rounded things out with an 87.5 on Celsius, taking down Grace Shipman’s 83.5 for her second MOP of the season.
Over in Horsemanship, South Carolina saw one point from Alexis Potts (76.75-76.50), while Texas A&M took the other four. With the win, Potts continues to remain undefeated on the season at 7-0-2. For her ride, the junior also picked up her second MOP of the season.
Fences opened up the second half, ending in a 2-2 overall tie. Natalie Jayne picked up her second point of the day on Max, taking down Alexa Leong by one point 82.5-81.5. Amira Kettenah then tied with an 85.5 on Cybermax alongside Aggie Alida Treuting. Grace Rabb finished things off with a massive 18.5 win on Cheeta (87.5-69), earning her second MOP of the season and recording the highest Jumping Seat score of the day alongside her twin sister Sarah on the Flat.
The meet wrapped up over in Reining, with Texas A&M taking the event 4-1. Freshman Emily Patton picked up the sole point for South Carolina (69.5-69), marking the first of her Gamecock career.
