CAVITE, Philippines – South Carolina sophomore golfer Lois Kaye Go earned a top-five finish at the 2018 Philippine Amateur Open after placing in a tie for third at the 72-hole event this past weekend.
Go posted a four-round total of 294 at the Riviera Golf Country Club to finish the tournament at 6-over. Go was solid in her first semester with the Gamecocks this past fall, ranking second on the team with a 72.00 stroke average. The sophomore transfer finished par or better in three of Carolina’s four events, and she saw her best finish (T11) of the fall at the 2017 Ruth’s Chris Tar Heel Invitational after totaling a 6-under 210. Go was one of two Gamecocks to grab multiple top-20 showings during the fall season.
No. 7 South Carolina opens its spring slate next month at the 2018 Florida State Match-Up. The 54-hole event, which takes place Feb. 9-11, will be contested at the Don Veller Seminole Golf Course.
