The 2003 Wachovia South Carolina Junior Hard Court Championship wrapped up Wednesday afternoon on the University of South Carolina campus. Seven new champions were crowned in their respective division while eight more contest were played for third place.
In the boys’ 16 singles division, Chris Peek of Lexington defeated Caleb Barnes in straight sets 6-2,7-5. Winning the boys’ 16 singles contest was only the start of the day for Peek as he went on to win the boys’ 16 doubles championship with teammate Wyatt Boylston. Boylston and Peek defeated Andrew Bartelmo and John Ellis 8-2.
In the girls’ 16 singles division, Syreeta Thompson was crowned champion after defeating Dana Richards in straight sets 6-3,6-3. Below is a complete list of the champions in each division and a recap of Wednesdays scores.
