COLUMBIA, S.C. –
South Carolina’s 2017 cross country schedule, released today, includes a trip for the second-straight year to the Joe Piane Notre Dame Invitational as well as one home meet to open the year.
The Gamecocks return to the Sandhill REC course on Sat., Sept. 2 to open the season, inviting in other teams from the region for the Carolina Challenge. South Carolina gets its preview of the SEC Championships course in its second outing, traveling to Athens, Ga., to participate in the Bulldog SEC Preview on Sept. 9. The biggest meet the Gamecocks compete in follows three weeks later, the 62nd annual Joe Piane Notre Dame Invitational on Sept. 29.
The Gamecocks tune up for the SEC Championships at the Crimson Classic on Fri. Oct. 13. Returning to Athens, Ga., on Oct. 27, South Carolina will compete in its 27th SEC Championships at the same host of its first, the University of Georgia. The NCAA Southeast Regional is set for Nov. 10 and is hosted again by the University of Virginia.
