Led by junior forward A’ja Wilson, who was a finalist for three national player of the year awards and the SEC Player of the Year for the second-straight season, the Gamecocks went 33-4 on the season and won their six NCAA Tournament games by an average of 20.5 points. Junior guards Kaela Davis and Allisha Gray each averaged over 15.0 points en route to the tournament title. Three members of the 2016-17 team were selected among the top 10 in the 2017 WNBA Draft, including senior Alaina Coates, who was the No. 2 pick ââ’¬” the highest in program history.
