O'Keefe/Dennis Fall in First Round of NCAA Championships

ATHENS, Ga. — South Carolina men’s tennis junior Harrison O’Keefe and sophomore Yancy Dennis fell to No. 12 Jack Findel Hawkins and Lasse Muscheites of University of North Florida Thursday in the First Round of the NCAA Doubles Championships at the Dan MaGill Tennis Complex in Athens, Ga.
The Gamecocks’ top tandem forced a tiebreak in the first set, but the North Florida duo quickly found their stride in the second set to close out the contest with a 7-6(3), 6-1 final score. Findel Hawkins and Muscheites will face Robert Loeb and Jan Zielinksi (1) of Georgia in the Round of 16.
The pair finished the season with a 18-9 record in dual play and an 8-5 record in the SEC. This season the duo claimed five victories over ranked opponents, including two over top-10 opponents.
