The No. 11 Gamecocks punched their ticket to the 24-team championship field after capturing their third-straight NCAA Regional Title last week at OSU Golf Club. Carolina, which boasts five regional championships since 2010, rallied from eight shots back and carded a final-round 288 (E) to finish tied atop the Columbus Regional leaderboard with Florida at 22-over 886.

Gamecock freshman Ana Pelaez, one of three Carolina golfers to finish in the top five, shared medalist honors at the 54-hole event with a three-round mark of 216 (E). The win marked the first career victory for Pelaez, who sports four top-15 finishes this spring.

Carolina, one of four schools to reach the NCAA Championship in each of the last eight years, will make the program’s 17th appearance at the event this spring. The Gamecocks tied for fifth at the NCAA Championship last season after reaching the match-play portion of the event for the first time in program history.
