Final Results

DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. – South Carolina women’s golf senior standout Katelyn Dambaugh and former Gamecock Justine Dreher concluded play at Stage III of the LPGA Qualifying Tournament Sunday afternoon. Dambaugh posted a final-round 75 (+3) at LPGA International to finish tied for 35th with a five-round mark of 361 (+1), while Dreher placed in a tie for 40th (362, +2) following her 73 (+1) Sunday.

Both golfers earned partial LPGA Tour cards by finishing inside the top 45 of the 157-player field. Dambaugh has decided to remain an amateur and finish up her collegiate career at Carolina in the spring. Dreher, who competed for the Gamecocks from 2011-15, received Category 17 membership on the 2017 LPGA Tour. The top-20 finishers at LPGA International this week received full LPGA Tour cards following the completion of Sunday’s final round.

Dambaugh, Carolina’s current all-time career stroke average leader, grabbed the 18-hole lead at Stage III after opening with a 5-under 67 Wednesday. She finished under par for the second-straight day following her 71 (-1) Thursday, and the Goose Creek, S.C., native carded a 73 (+1) in round three and a 75 (+3) on Saturday. Dambaugh’s 35th-place finish was the fifth-highest among the 10 amateurs in the field.

Dreher posted a first-round 74 (+2) before shooting under par in round two (71, -1) and three (70, -2). The three-time All-American carded a 1-over 74 in Saturday’s fourth round to join Dambaugh on the list of 70 players to make the 72-hole cut.

Dambaugh and the Gamecocks closed their fall with two-straight top-five finishes, including a win at the 2016 Landfall Tradition. Carolina opens its spring season at the 2017 FSU Match-Up, set for Feb. 10-12 at the Don Veller Course in Tallahassee, Fla.
