COLUMBIA, S.C. – South Carolina men’s and women’s golf took part in their annual tradition of building bikes for kids this week as part of the Toys for Tots program.
The Gamecocks assisted The Members Club, a home course of Carolina, in the project. Through their efforts, 200 bikes were assembled for children in the community.
Student-athletes from a variety of sports participated in South Carolina’s Week of Giving over the last several days. Over 100 Gamecocks volunteered this week, helping out organizations such as the Harvest Hope Food Bank.
The Gamecock women’s golf team wrapped up its fall season with a victory in the 2016 Landfall Tradition last month. The result marked its second-straight top-five finish, and Carolina set four program records throughout its fall slate. The Gamecocks open their spring season at the FSU Match-Up, set for Feb. 10-12 at the Don Veller Course in Tallahassee, Fla.
Carolina men’s golf team boasted three top-five showings in the fall, including runner-up honors at the 2016 Camden Collegiate in October. The Gamecocks are set to compete in six tournaments this spring before the 2017 SEC Championship, starting with the All-American Intercollegiate (Feb. 17-19) in Humble, Texas.
