South Carolina earned its 10th-consecutive NCAA Regional team bid as the NCAA announced pairings for the 64-team, 16-regional field Wednesday afternoon. The Gamecocks are making their 17th NCAA appearance in the last 19 seasons.

USC will face No. 33 ranked Rice (19-7) in its first-round match on either Friday, May 9 or Saturday, May 10 in Austin, Texas. The winner of the USC-Rice match will meet the winner of the match between 16th-ranked Texas and St. Bonaventure on Saturday or Sunday for the right to advance to the NCAA Championships in Athens, Ga., beginning May 17. Dates and times for regional matches are TBA.

The Gamecocks are ranked No. 18 in the nation and posted a 17-7 dual match record during the 2003 campaign. Carolina’s two All-SEC selections, Seth Rose and Angelo Niculescu, are ranked in the individual rankings. Rose holds the No. 48 spot while Niculescu is ranked No. 69.
