USC placed three student-athletes on the 2002-03 SEC Men’s Basketball Academic. A total of 26 student-athletes were named to the 2002-03 SEC Men’s Basketball Academic Honor Roll Tuesday by SEC Commissioner Mike Slive.

The Gamecock threesome included Marius Petravicius (Senior, Business Administration), Mike Boyton (Junior, African-American Studies) and John Chappell (Sophomore, Business Administration). Chappell leads all Gamecocks with a cumulative GPA of 3.89, including a 4.0 he received as a member of the President’s List in the Fall, 2002 semester.

USC joined five other schools with at least three student-athletes on the honor roll.

The 2002-03 SEC Men’s Basketball Academic Honor Roll is based on grades from the 2001-02 academic calendar.
