CORAL SPRINGS, Fla. – South Carolina’s Katelyn Dambaugh resumed played at the Dixie Amateur on Thursday, posting a 1-over (73) in the second round at TPC Eagle Trace. The junior stands in a tie for seventh place at 3-under for the tournament.
Dambaugh turned in an up-and-down round on day two that included two birdies and three bogeys. A birdie on her second hole of her round, the par-4 second, dropped her to 5-under for the tournament, but the Goose Creek, S.C., native bogeyed hole No. 6 before recording three straight pars to make the turn at even (36).
Following a birdie on No. 10, Dambaugh suffered bogeys on No. 12 and 17 on her way to a 1-over (37) performance on the back nine. The South Carolina standout has totaled six birdies through two rounds this week.
USF’s Ashley Burke and Clemson’s Lauren Stephenson currently sit atop the leaderboard with two-day totals of 138 (-6), while Roos Haarman (-5) of the Netherlands rounds out the top three.
The tournament shifts back to the Heron Bay Golf Club on Friday where the field will get cut to 72 players following the conclusion of the third round. Dambaugh’s tee time is set for 7:08 a.m. (ET), and she will play alongside UCF’s Ashley Holder and Louisville’s Molly Skapik.
