Every coaching staff preaches wanting to have a true team environment, but for the nationally-ranked South Carolina women’s soccer team it’s obvious they truly buy into this thought process.
In fact, South Carolina is leading the SEC presently with 15 Gamecocks having scored already in the 2015 season. Next closest to the Gamecocks is 22nd-ranked Kentucky with 11 players having scored this season.
South Carolina women’s soccer head coach Shelley Smith did not enter this year thinking there would be so many players in the scoring column. But it’s a trend she hopes continues.
