OLYMPIA FIELDS, Ill. – The second round of stroke play at the U.S. Amateur Championship was suspended due to darkness on Tuesday at Olympia Fields Country Club.

South Carolina senior Matt NeSmith carded a second-round 73 (+3) on the North Course and has solidified his spot in match play as he was in a tie for ninth with a total of 138 (-2) when play was suspended. The low 64 scorers at the conclusion of the second round will advance to match play.

The projected cut is currently at 3-over, and Gamecock senior Sean Kelly finish his day in a tie for 56th with a total of 143 (+3) after shooting a 71 (+1) early on Tuesday on the North Course.

Play will resume Wednesday morning at a time yet to be determined. Match play will begin at the conclusion of the second round. Live results will be available at USGA.org.
