COLUMBIA, S.C. –

For the 38th season of Gamecock men’s soccer, South Carolina head coach Mark Berson challenged his team with a daunting 2015 schedule that includes matchups against eight teams who made last year’s NCAA Tournament.

Nine regular-season home night matches are included, starting with the season opener against Mercer on Fri., Aug. 28 at 7 p.m. Other marquee matches coming to Stone Stadium include perennial power and Conference USA foe New Mexico in the league home opener as well as matches against NCAA Tournament teams Old Dominion (Oct. 31) and Coastal Carolina (Nov. 7) to close out the regular season.

The Gamecocks also host C-USA home contests against Florida Atlantic (Oct. 9) and FIU (Oct. 27) in addition to the conference closer against the ODU Monarchs. On the road, South Carolina will take on NCAA bid winners UAB (Sept. 18), Kentucky (Oct. 18) and Charlotte (Oct. 23) in addition to Marshall (Oct. 2).

South Carolina faces three Atlantic Coast Conference foes on the road, starting with the annual rivalry match against Clemson at 7:30 p.m. on Fri., Sept. 4. The Gamecocks also make Tuesday night trips to Wake Forest (Oct. 6), who also made the NCAA Tournament last year, as well as NC State (Oct. 13). Also scheduled is a road trip to UNC Wilmington, who made last year’s national field, on Sept. 12.

The Gamecocks host three home exhibitions on Aug. 16 vs. Gardner-Webb, Aug. 19 vs. Winthrop and Aug. 23 vs. Furman. Fans are invited to attend those three free of charge.

South Carolina will again sell a joint season ticket (buy here) with the women’s soccer team, who announces its schedule tomorrow. Adults can get into all of the home matches at Stone Stadium for $25, while youth 17 and under get a $10 season ticket. For those who can’t come to The Graveyard for matches, the Gamecocks again plan to show all nine home matches on SEC Network +, the digital network launched a year ago.

South Carolina advanced to the Conference USA Tournament Championship Match at Old Dominion.
