Nov. 11, 2001

As the SEC Volleyball Tournament pairings were set, the South Carolina Gamecocks volleyball team found out that they might soon be facing the ghosts of their season’s past. Carolina will open the single-elimination tournament against the host school, the University of Tennessee Lady Volunteers, on Friday, November 16, 2001 at 7:00 p.m. Should the Gamecocks win, they could eventually face the three teams that Carolina lost matches to this year, Tennessee, Arkansas, and Florida. If South Carolina were to defeat Tennessee, they would play the winner of the Arkansas-Kentucky match on Saturday, November 17th at 4:30 p.m. The Arkansas-Kentucky match will start at 2:00 p.m. Friday, Nov. 16th.

In the other half of the bracket, the number one seed Florida Gators will take on the No. eight seed Georgia Bulldogs at 11:30 a.m. At 4:30 p.m., the No. five seed Alabama Crimson Tide will take on the No. four seed Louisiana State Tigers. The winners of those two matches will meet at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, November 17th.

The championship match will take place on Sunday, November 18, 2001 at 1:00 p.m. and will be shown on SEC-TV. All matches will be played at the Stokely Athletics Center at the University of Tennessee in Knoxville.
