COLUMBIA, S.C. – Sophomore Katelyn Dambaugh has earned SEC Golfer of the Week honors after shooting a 66 and capturing fifth place at the PING/ASU Invitational.

The result at last weekend’s PING/ASU Invitational is Dambaugh’s second top-five finish of the season. The Gamecock wrapped up the event with a 54-hole total of 213 (-3). The tournament featured one of the toughest fields of the season with the top five teams in the nation competing along with 15 of the country’s top individuals.

Dambaugh fired a collegiate-best 66 in the second round to become just the seventh Gamecock in school history to shoot 66 or lower. Her efforts helped the Gamecocks tie for fourth at the event, extending the team’s top five streak to 15 in regular season stroke play events.

The Gamecocks’ top finisher in two of four spring events, Dambaugh holds a season scoring average of 73.70. She also owns a career scoring average of 73.69. Last season, Dambaugh twice earned SEC Freshman of the Week honors.
