ATHENS, Ga. –
For the second consecutive year, sophomore Istvan Bathazi won the 400 individual medley consolation final to finish ninth overall in the event. Bathazi finished with a time of 3:45.76, breaking his own school record that he set in the event last year. The Gamecocks men’s swimming and diving team currently stand tied for 24th place with one more day of competition left.

Also competing for the Gamecocks on Friday was senior Brandon Hulko. In his final diving competition at USC, Hulko placed 25th on the three-meter board with a score of 302.20.

Sophomore Chris McCrary competed in the 100 butterfly and finished 35th with a time of 48.55 in the prelims.

McCrary will compete for USC tomorrow in the 200 butterfly. Preliminary competition begins at 11 a.m.
