South Carolina sophomore guard Duane Notice from the Gamecock men’s basketball team has been named AgSouth Athlete of the Week.

Notice posted back-to-back 20-point performances for the first time in his career, including hitting a career high 27 points in a road win at Marshall, to lead the Gamecocks to a 2-0 record last week with victories over the Thundering Herd and (RV/RV) Oklahoma State in the SEC/Big 12 Challenge. Notice hit over 50 percent from the field in both contests, including a 10-of-18 performance at Marshall, along with five rebounds, four assists and two steals. Notice was instrumental in Carolina’s 26-point home win vs. the Cowboys. Notice scored 20 points overall, including 12 points in the second half, helping the Gamecocks to victory. He averaged 34 minutes per game last week. Carolina’s win at Marshall marked its biggest win in a true road game since an 18-point victory at Princeton in 2008.
