COLUMBIA, S.C. – In the midst of the best fall season in program history, South Carolina returned to the No. 1 spot in both the Golfweek/Sagarin and Golfstat Relative Rankings this week.
The Gamecocks reached No. 1 in the Golfweek/Sagarin rankings for the first time in program history on Oct. 3 after their head-turning win at the ANNIKA Intercollegiate, but dropped to the No. 2 spot last week. This week marks the first time South Carolina has been ranked No. 1 in the Golfstat Relative Rankings after checking in at No. 2 in the season’s first release last week.
In three events this season, the Gamecocks have a pair of wins at the ANNIKA Intercollegiate and the Mercedes-Benz Collegiate and a runner-up finish at the Tar Heel Invitational. Both senior Justine Dreher and freshman Nanna Madsen have captured individual titles as well. South Carolina is 42-1 overall and boasts a 20-1 record against the top 25.
South Carolina concludes the fall season this weekend at the Landfall Tradition in Wilmington, N.C. The event begins Friday on the Pete Dye Course at the Country Club of Landfall.
