Aug. 6, 2014
TALLINN, Estonia – USA East Coast and head coach Frank Martin finished second at the 2014 Tallinn Cup after suffering a 77-65 loss to the Estonian National Team on Wednesday. Both Estonia and the USA finished with identical records at the event, but Estonia took first place due to a point differential tiebreaker.
Gamecock senior guard Tyrone Johnson posted 11 points with four rebounds on Wednesday, while sophomore guard Sindarius Thornwell added eight points and seven boards. The USA led for the majority of the first half, but the Estonians jumped ahead much of the second half to capture the win.
USA East Coast will depart via ferry across the Gulf of Finland on Thursday to play against the Helsinki Seagulls of the Finish Pro League. Tip off for that contest is set for 11:30 a.m. ET.
