Rising junior Tiffany Mitchell starts our 2014 Summer Blog with a photo diary of her first five days prepping for the FIBA 3×3 World Championships. (Click on the photo to see a larger version.)
She will share more images from Moscow next week.
Fri., May 30 Arrived in Colorado Springs for a few days of training camp at the U.S. Olympic Training Center before the big event. It’s great to be here as part of the USA Basketball family …but I’ll always represent Gamecock Nation! |
Sat., May 31 The gym where we practice is great! We come here twice a day for around 90 minutes each, usually after the men’s 3×3 team. In the morning, we usually get shots up and run through our sets in the first half then scrimmage against some local guys in the second half. The afternoon session is all scrimmaging. |
Sun., June 1 Keeping energy up is key, and USA Basketball takes great care of us in the on-site dining hall – a lot of healthy selections and no fried foods AT ALL! Everything there is good for you …even when you might wish you could be bad – ha ha! |
Mon., June 2 Can’t leave the country without making sure the uniform fits! I chose to wear number five for two reasons – to recognize Coach Staley for helping me get ready for this opportunity and for Seimone Augustus because she is my favorite player. |
Tues., June 3 Made it to Russia and most important thing to check out? The room! Don’t need much on this trip, but we have some hard work ahead, so have to make sure I can get good rest! |
