COLUMBIA, S.C. — South Carolina freshman Ben Dietrich has been named to the SEC Men’s Golf Community Service Team, the conference office announced Friday.
A native of Bluffton, S.C., Dietrich has been active in the community in his first year in Columbia. He has volunteered with the Carolina Children’s Home, doing activities and interacting with the children, hosting a Bible study and helping them around the hospital. He has visited with the patients at Palmetto Health Children’s Hospital. He also volunteered at the First Tee by providing help to the staff and spent time with the children at the event.
The SEC names a Community Service Team for each of its 21 league-sponsored sports, looking to highlight a student-athlete from each school who gives back to their community through superior service efforts.
