SEC Championship Central

COLUMBIA, S.C. – The 2014 SEC Equestrian Championship will take place this weekend at One Wood Farm in Blythewood, S.C. The University of South Carolina and the Town of Blythewood are hosting this year’s Championship. Below is information about this weekend’s Championship.

ONE WOOD FARM
Address: 1201 Syrup Mill Road | Blythewood, S.C. 29016

Directions (from Columbia): Take I-77 N. to Exit 27, which is Blythewood Rd. Turn left back over the interstate and pass Cobblestone Park. Then turn right on the first road on the right, which is Syrup Mill Road. One Wood Farm is the first driveway on the left. Parking staff will be on site to direct fans to the proper parking area.

ADMISSION
Admission is free all weekend. There is no cost to attend and parking is also free.

PARKING
There will be no on-site parking allowed at One Wood Farm. All fans, parents, and volunteers will park directly across the street from One Wood Farm in the Cobblestone Park neighborhood. Free shuttles will transport fans to and from the facility on both days, and the Richland County Sherrifs Department will control traffic on Syrup Mill Road to ensure that fans can safely cross the road to get to and from One Wood Farm.

GATE OPENING TIMES
Gates at OneWood Farm for fans will open one hour prior to the first competition of each day and will remain open throughout the event.

WEATHER
In the event of inclement weather, the meet shall be halted when there is lightning detected within 8 miles of OneWood Farm. The meet shall resume when weather conditions are satisfactory to the standard severe weather policy. The meet will be called by the steward after consulting with event management. If the meet is unable to continue, it will be considered complete if 75 percent of the meet schedule has been completed. If 75 percent cannot be completed, no SEC Champion will be named.

TOBCACCO
The use of tobacco-related products by student-athletes, coaches, support personnel and staff during practice or competition (including banquets, press Conferences and post-competition interviews, and in all facilities and competition grounds) is strictly prohibited. This prohibition is applicable to all activities at the athletic competition and practices. OneWood Farm is a non-smoking venue.

PROHIBITED ITEMS
• Noise makers: spirit sticks, spirit clappers, spirit cowbells, stadium horns, megaphones, whistles (this not NOT mean human whistling using fingers), speakers, bullhorns are all prohibited items at One Wood Farm. For the safety of the riders and horses and for the fans’ experience – noise makers/noise devices/noise amplifiers and/or any item or object that falls into this category are not allowed to be used at all.

• Pets: For the safety of spectators, fans, and the horses, pets are not allowed at One Wood Farm, but service dogs are permitted in compliance with the Americans With Disabilities Act. Per ADA, “a service animal is a dog that is individually trained to do work or perform tasks for a person with a disability.” Under the ADA, State and local governments, businesses, and nonprofit organizations that serve the public generally must allow service animals to accompany people with disabilities in all areas of the facility where the public is normally allowed to go.

SEC CHAMPIONSHIP MERCHANDISE
The Southeastern Conference will be selling 2014 SEC Equestrian Championship merchandise at One Wood Farm throughout the weekends. Fans are advised to bring cash if they wish to purchase any merchandise.

CONCESSIONS
There will be a concession stand at One Wood Farm during all four meets throughout the weekend.

AWARDS
The SEC equestrian champion is presented a trophy immediately following the conclusion of the final day of competition. Each member of the All-Championship Team shall receive individual trophies.

Most Outstanding Performers: The judges will confer and select one Most Outstanding Performer per event from each competition in the championship (total of four per competition per day). Honorees will receive flowers.

All-Championship Team: A ballot will be compiled and coaches will vote on this award immediately following the SEC Championship. The four All-Championship Team recipients, one from each event, will receive their individual trophies at the time of the team trophy presentation.
