COLUMBIA, S.C. –
The South Carolina women’s golf team has moved up five spots to No. 8 in the latest Golfstat rankings.

The Gamecocks opened their spring schedule with two top-five finishes, taking fifth place at the Darius Rucker Intercollegiate and first place at the Florida State Match-Up.

Southern California, UCLA and Duke remain No. 1, 2 and 3, respectively. Oklahoma and Arkansas round out the top-five.

Along with South Carolina and Arkansas, five other SEC schools are ranked including two more in the top-15 with Alabama at No. 7 and Vanderbilt at No. 14.

South Carolina is also ranked in both the Golf World/WGCA Division I College Coaches’ Poll and the GolfWeek/Sagarin rankings at No. 12 and No. 13, respectively.

The Gamecocks will be back in action March 28-30 when they travel to Wilmington, N.C. for the Bryan National Collegiate.
