COLUMBIA, S.C. – On Sat., Feb. 15, the South Carolina men’s soccer program will host its 15th Annual CAPS clinic from 1:00 – 4:00 p.m. at the USC Indoor Field House. The event, which includes instruction and on-field time with members of the Gamecock men’s soccer team, t-shirt, snack and autograph opportunities, benefits Children’s Chance, an organization that assists children with cancer and their families.

WHO: South Carolina Men’s Soccer Team and parents with children ages 4-14
WHAT: The 15th Annual CAPS Clinic first and foremost will be fun. It is geared towards parents and children being together to learn soccer from the Gamecock coaching staff and team. WHEN: Saturday, Feb. 15, 2014, 1:00-4:00 p.m.
WHERE: University of South Carolina Indoor Field House (1401 Whaley St.)
WHY: To benefit Children’s Chance, an organization whose mission is to help children with cancer and their families.

“Our players and staff look forward to this event every spring,” South Carolina head coach Mark Berson said of the event. “This is our 15th annual `Child and Parent Clinic’ where we have fun and instruct both youth players and parents on the basics of soccer. Absolutely no experience is necessary for the youth players and parents – and for many, this is one of their first soccer experiences!

“Our goal is to teach basic skills and show parents some soccer skills techniques that they can use at home – in the backyard – or driveway – or living room – to have fun with their children. Most of all we have fun and learn the game.

“This is a service project for our Gamecock players and staff and 100% of the fees go to support Children’s Chance. We look forward to seeing everyone.”
