COLUMBIA, S.C. – South Carolina athletics is excited to announce an all-star lineup for its second edition of #HoopsTakeover, which will be simulcast on 107.5 The Game and GamecocksOnline.com on Thursday, Nov. 7, from 9 a.m.-7 p.m. ET, and then followed by the first edition of Carolina Calls With Frank Martin at 7 p.m. from Wild Wing Café in The Vista.
The day begins with Andy Demetra, the voice of Gamecock men’s basketball, hosting from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m., followed by the 107.5 radio hosts conducting their regular shows from the McGuire Club at Colonial Life Arena throughout the remainder of the day.
From 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. at GamecocksOnline.com, a live video stream will broadcast the entire day. Several contests will occur throughout #HoopsTakeover on the radio and in social media to encourage and reward interaction. Fans should follow the #HoopsTakeover hashtag as well as the @GamecockMBB, @GamecockWBB, and @GamecockAthletics accounts on Twitter and @GamecocksOnline on Instagram throughout the event for additional basketball content and chances to win prizes.
Below is the schedule for the day (additions still coming, and schedule subject to chance so check back frequently/all times listed in Eastern):
9-10 a.m.: Assistant women’s basketball coach Nikki McCray and ESPN college basketball analyst Jimmy Dykes
10-11 a.m.: Associate Head Coach for the Gamecock men’s basketball team Matt Figger, former women’s basketball player Petra Ujhelyi and former men’s basketball player Melvin Watson
11 a.m.-Noon: ESPN personality Rece Davis, Gamecock great BJ McKie and South Carolina Athletics Director Ray Tanner
Noon-1 p.m.: Southeastern Conference Commissioner Mike Slive and Gamecock women’s basketball coach Dawn Staley
1-2 p.m.: Coach Staley continues, followed by ESPN’s Chris Turner to speak about the soon-to-launch SEC Network and Jake Bell, the SEC’s Coordinator of Officials for men’s basketball
2-3 p.m.: NBA veteran and current player for the LA Lakers Steve Blake, former player for the Gamecock men’s team and long-time basketball coach Bobby Cremins and several Carolina men’s basketball players
3-4 p.m.: South Carolina head men’s basketball coach Frank Martin, West Virginia head coach Bob Huggins and ESPN college basketball insider Jeff Goodman
4-5 p.m.: Coach Martin continues, former Gamecock women’s basketball players Shannon Johnson and Sharon Rivers, and Fatima Maddox, who played for Coach Staley at Temple and is currently with the Harlem Globetrotters
5-6 p.m.: Several Gamecock women’s basketball players, women’s college basketball analyst Debbie Antonelli and Mark Whitworth, the SEC’s men’s basketball liaison
6-7 p.m.: ESPN women’s college basketball analyst Cara Capuano, University of South Carolina president Dr. Harris Pastides and ESPN, and longtime SEC personality Dave Neal
