COLUMBIA, S.C. – In its first non-traditional season competition, South Carolina split its eight sets in the spring event hosted by NC State.

The Gamecocks swept Campbell and split sets with Virginia Tech and one part of the NC State team. South Carolina didn’t fare as well against the other half of the Wolfpack, dropping both sets.

Coach Scott Swanson said it was a great learning experience for the Gamecocks, helping the team identify what it needed to work on before hosting its own spring event this coming Saturday.

The Gamecocks welcome four other area teams this weekend. Full details will be available later this week on GamecocksOnline.com.
