COLUMBIA, S.C. – Senior women’s golfer Samantha Swinehart has been named AgSouth Athlete of the Week.

Swinehart finished in a tie for second place this past weekend at the Mercedes-Benz Collegiate Championship in Knoxville, Tenn. This marked Swinehart’s first ever top-five finish and a new career-best, as well as a second consecutive top-10 finish as she tied for 10th place at the Cougar Classic earlier this month. The native of Lancaster, Ohio, shot a 2-under 69 in Friday’s opening round and an even-par 71 on Sunday’s second and final round to finish with a total score of 140 (-2). Swinehart also recorded a team-best eight birdies in the tournament.
