Columbia, S.C. – The University of South Carolina men’s golf team fired the second lowest round of the Tulane Invitational during round three at English Turn Golf and Country Club. The Gamecocks’ third-round score of 290 moved them to sixth place, in which they would post a 54-hole score of 899 to close out the tournament.

Wake Forest took home the team title with a three-round score of 874. The Mustangs of SMU finished one stroke back in second place, followed by Southern Mississippi in third.

Freshman Eirik Johansen, finishing in 10th place, led the Gamecocks with a three-round score of 222. After firing 78 in round two, Johansen shaved seven strokes in the third round to shoot one-under-par 71. One stroke off of Johansen was Alex Hamilton, who finished in a tie for 13th with 223.

West Streib shot 227 to place 25th, while Michael Maness improved on day three to shot one-under-par 71. His three-round total of 229 would earn him a 27th place finish. With a total of 234, Martin Rominger woud tie for 35th.

Wake Forest’s Bill Haas won the indiviual medalist honors with a six-under-par score of 210.
