Auburn, Ala. – Four South Carolina divers qualified for the finals in their events. The men’s 1-meter, with one Gamecock participant, will be held tonight at 6:30 p.m. and the women’s 3-meter final, featuring all three South Carolina divers, will be held afterward.

After a heated competition, all three South Carolina women’s divers qualified for the 3-meter springboard finals to be held tonight after the men’s 1-meter. The Gamecock leader was Tracey Richardson, who put up 196.5 points after 11 dives. She was the third-place qualifier. She was followed by Allison Brennan, 195.25, in fourth; and Lauren King, 188.45, in sixth. All scores will be cleared before the finals begin. Brennan will dive fourth in the finals, King sixth and Richardson seventh.

South Carolina diver Andy Bradley was the lone qualifier in Wednesday morning’s men’s 1-meter diving preliminaries. Bradley advanced to the finals, to be held tonight at 4:30 p.m., with a final score of 314.5 over six dives. He was the fifth-place qualifier for the finals, but preliminary scores will be cleared before the finals begin. Bradley will be diving fourth. Dean Emmerton was on the cusp of making the top eight, but fell just short with a score of 269.7, a mere nine points away from qualifying. Also diving for South Carolina was freshman Ian Balman.

Also being held tonight is the 200 Medley Relay finals and the 800 Freestyle Relay finals.
