ROCK HILL, S.C. – South Carolina senior Harry Menzies and sophomore Ben Barnette wrapped up the doubles title in the top bracket of the Carolinas Invitational at Winthrop’s Memorial Courts on Sunday. Menzies finished up his dual day with a runner-up finish in singles, suffering his first only loss of the weekend.

In doubles action, the Gamecock duo has yielded just three games through the first two matches, while their opponents from Presbyterian, William O’Connell and Andrew Brigham, had faced more adversity leading into the final. Menzies and Barnette were up to the challenge, pushing through with an 8-4 victory for the team’s first title of the fall.

In singles action, Menzies faced off with Georgia State’s Lucas Santa Ana. After winning the first set 6-4, the Gamecock senior found himself in his third three-set match of the tournament when Santa Ana won the second set 6-2. The Panther senior proved to be the fresher of the two in the third set and captured the title with a 6-1 victory.

Barnette wrapped up his tournament with a victory in the back draw, defeating Tennessee Tech’s Artem Tarasov 6-2, 6-2 to finish 15th at the event.
