COLUMBIA, S.C. – Fans of the South Carolina volleyball team have two additional chances to watch the 2012 team in action at the Volleyball Competition Facility, and both will be free of charge.

The first opportunity comes on Sun., Aug. 12, as the team will open its afternoon scrimmage to the public to conclude the fall sports Fan Appreciation Day. Activities for the signing event at Colonial Life Arena begin at 12:30 p.m., while the Garnet & Black Scrimmage is slated for a 4:30 p.m. first serve at the VCF. Admission is free to both Fan Appreciation Day and the Garnet & Black Scrimmage.

South Carolina previously added an exhibition match on Wed., Aug. 29, but the foe has changed. The Slovenian National Team comes to town for a 7 p.m. match, replacing the country’s junior national team on the docket. The Slovenians are touring the Southeast, preparing for qualifying tournaments for the 2013 European Championships. Fans can watch that match free of charge.

Season tickets for the other 14 home dates are on sale now by phone (800-4SC-FANS), at the Colonial Life Arena Ticket Office and at GamecocksOnline.com. Adult season tickets are $25, while youth 17 and under get a season ticket at $10. Group rates for 12 or more people are also available by calling the marketing office.
