COLUMBIA, S.C. – (Updated 1:49 p.m.) Fans are encouraged to come to campus to welcome back the women’s basketball team as they return from their NCAA Tournament game in Fresno. The team landed around 1:40 p.m. and is estimated to arrive around 2:15 p.m. at the Elephant Room entrance of Carolina Coliseum on Park Street, the same location as the send-off.

No. 1 seed Stanford defeated the Gamecocks Saturday night, bringing to an end a historic season that saw South Carolina collect 25 victories, their highest win total since 2001-02, and their first NCAA Tournament appearance since 2003. It was just the third time in program history that South Carolina advanced to the Sweet Sixteen.
