COLUMBIA, S.C. – Malik Cooke from the Gamecock men’s basketball team has been named AgSouth Athlete of the Week.

Cooke led all scorers in the Gamecocks’ 76-67 loss to Providence on Dec. 1 with 21 on 8-of-12 shooting from the floor including 3-of-5 from behind the arc. Cooke played a key role in helping the Gamecocks defeat Clemson on the road with six points and eight rebounds. He hit two free throws with 6.7 seconds remaining to seal the 58-55 South Carolina victory over the Tigers.
