COLUMBIA, S.C. — The South Carolina cross country team is set to run in the 39th annual Gene Mullin Furman Invitational on Saturday in Greenville, S.C.
Gamecock head coach Stan Rosenthal is traveling his `B’ team for the event. The women’s collegiate 5K race begins at 9:10 a.m. on the cross country course at the Furman Golf Course.
BREAKING DOWN THE FIELD The Gamecocks will be running against 13 teams, highlighted by Furman. The Paladins are ranked 10th in the Southeast Region. Below is a list of teams slated to run on Saturday.

THE COURSE
The Gamecocks will race on the 5K cross country course at the Furman Golf Course. Two NCAA Division I cross country championships have been held on the course. For a course map, please click here.
TAKING A BREAK
After running in three straight meets, the Gamecock varsity runners are receiving a much-needed break this week. The runners are using the week to up their mileage in preparation for next week’s Indiana State Pre-National Invitational.
LOOKING AHEAD
The Gamecock varsity squad will be back in action on Sunday, Oct. 16 in the Indiana State Pre-National Invitational in Terre Haute, Ind., where the NCAA Championships will be held this year. The field will be loaded with nationally and regionally ranked opponents, with 47 teams being split between two 6K races.
