COLUMBIA, S.C. – The South Carolina equestrian team debuted at No. 3 in the first coaches poll of the 2011-2012 season, it was announced today.
The Gamecocks (2-1) are coming off a 10-10 tiebreaker loss at Auburn on Saturday. South Carolina tied the Tigers 5-5 in both Hunt Seat and Western action, but the Tigers prevailed on the raw score tiebreaker.

The poll will be released bi-monthly with the next announcement scheduled for October 26, 2011.
The Gamecocks return to action on Oct. 28 when they travel to Dallas to face SMU in Hunt Seat action. South Carolina then travels to No. 10 New Mexico State to face the Aggies on Oct. 29. The Gamecocks close out the fall portion of their schedule on Nov. 4, when they host Georgia at One Wood Farm in Blythewood.
