COLUMBIA, S.C. – Following walk-on tryouts last week, the South Carolina men’s basketball team has added two walk-ons to its roster, head coach Darrin Horn announced on Wednesday. Shane Philips (Sr. – G – 5’10 – 170 – Pittsburgh, Penn./Wheeling Central) and Alex Irwin (Sr. – F – 6’4 – 170 – Richmond, Va./Woodbury Forest/Sewanee) will begin participating in team activities immediately.

South Carolina will begin official team practice for the 2011-12 season on Friday, Oct. 14. A media advisory with preseason information and dates will be released next week.
