Columbia, S.C. – Led by freshman Eirik Johansen, the University of South Carolina men’s golf team finished third at the Turtle Bay Intercollegiate in Kahuku, Hawaii, after firing a three-round score of 863. UNLV won the team title with a seven-under-par score of 857. Southeastern Conference foe, Tennessee finished in second place with a score of 861.

Johansen, who helped USC post its highest finish of the fall, shot a one-under-par score of 215 (72-72-71) to tie for fourth place. Michael Maness struggled in the first round and record a seven-over-par 79. In the final two rounds of action, Maness blasted 70 to improve to 10th place. Maness’ total of 218 (79-70-70) tied him for 10th.

West Streib and Alex Hamilton shot 220, tying for 16th. Sophomore Marton Rominger rounded out the five-man squad in 22nd place after shooting 221 (71-73-77).

Today’s action in Kahuku, Hawaii, closes out the Gamecocks’ fall season.
