As we lead into the first match for head coach Scott Swanson at South Carolina, we’re going to post these question-and-answer sessions compiled by media relations student assistants Bernice Woodard and Megan Mabry with the volleyball student-athletes. Up first is sophomore defensive specialist Paige Wheeler, who chatted with Mabry about Italy, Vince Vaughn and dancing.
Who is your favorite teammate and why?
Lindsay Craft because she works hard everyday, she goes for every ball and pushes me to be better.
If you could travel anywhere on the planet, where would you go?
Italy. I haven’t been and I see it all the time in the movies.
What was the best movie you saw this summer?
Crazy Stupid Love. It was awesome.
If you could be a character in any movie, who would you be?
Vince Vaughn from Wedding Crashers because it’s hilarious.
Do you have any pre-game or in-game rituals?
We just made up a team dance, so that will be part of it. We also do a little banging on the walls in the hallway.
What one word would you use to describe your style of play?
Unique.
What’s the one thing you can’t leave without on a road trip?
My iPod
What’s your biggest pet peeve?
When people smack their food.
