COLUMBIA, S.C. – South Carolina senior forward Sam Muldrow has been named AgSouth Athlete of the Week.

Muldrow led the Gamecocks to two victories last week, including a 64-60 win over archrival Clemson on Sunday, snapping a six-game losing streak against the Tigers that dated back to the 2003-04 season. The win over Clemson was the first for Muldrow as a Gamecock. Muldrow was instrumental in South Carolina’s win over Clemson, posting a season-best five blocks in the contest, while he also was a perfect 4-of-4 from the free throw line, including two free throws with 12 seconds remaining in the game to push the Gamecock lead to two possessions and the contest out of reach for Clemson.

The Forence, S.C., native averaged 8.5 points, 5.0 rebounds and 4.0 blocks in two games last week, which also included a 74-61 win over Delaware State, to help Carolina improve its record to 6-1 for the year. It is the third-straight season the Gamecocks have began the season with a 6-1 mark.
