Columbia, S.C. –
Following a strong weekend where the Gamecock volleyball team (16-3, 9-0 SEC) went 2-0, defeating Southeastern Conference opponents Alabama and Auburn, USC moved up three spots from 24th to 21st in the AVCA/USA Today Coaches Poll.

This weekend the Gamecocks face Georgia and third-ranked Florida. Against the Bulldogs, Carolina is 10-33 but have won the last two meetings. Georgia comes in with a 14-9 and 4-4 SEC record. On Oct. 11, Florida beat Mississippi State for their 100th consecutive SEC victory. The last SEC loss the Gators suffered was the 3-1 fall to South Carolina in 1994 in Columbia.
