Sophomore middle blocker Niece Curry was South Carolina’s South Eastern Conference Nominee for Player of the Week. Curry helped lead USC this weekend to victories over SEC West foes Auburn and Alabama. The Kalamazoo, Mich. native averaged 3.00 kills/game and had a .412 hitting percentage over the weekend.
Curry also averaged 1.33 blocks/game as well as 0.50 aces/game. The two conference victories extend USC’s record in the SEC to 9-0 with an overall record of 16-3.
The Gamecocks next match is against SEC East foe Georgia, Friday October 25 at 7p.m. On Sunday, Carolina hosts third-ranked Florida in a battle for first place in the SEC at 1:30 p.m.
