  • Played in all 34 games with one start and was key reserve off the bench ; averaged 5.9 points, 1.9 assists and 1.8 rebounds in 22.9 minutes per game in helping the team to post a 26-8 record and return to the NCAA Tournament for the first time since 2017
  • Team went 8-0 in games he scored in double figures
  • Had 12 points off the bench in win over Virginia Tech (Nov. 10) in the Hall of Fame Series at Spectrum Center

  • Started and had 14 points, five rebounds and four assists in season-opening win vs. SC State (Nov. 8)

2021-22 (FRESHMAN)

  • Appeared in 31 games making nine starts in first season on campus
  • Averaged 3.4 points, 1.8 assists and 1.6 rebounds per game
  • Scored season-high 11 points at Coastal Carolina (Dec. 1) and vs. Army (Dec. 22)
  • Had eight points, six rebounds and six assists (both season highs) in a 80-67 win vs. Georgetown (Dec. 5)
  • Logged four games in SEC play with four assists ; team was 4-0 in those games
  • Named to the SEC Community Service Team

PRE-SOUTH CAROLINA

  • A four star prospect according to ESPN.com and the No. 4 prospect in the state
  • Spent junior and senior seasons at Legacy Early College High School
  • Averaged 16.4 points, 3.6 rebounds, 3.7 assists and 1.2 steals per game as a senior; team captain as a senior
  • Top scoring output during senior campaign came in 32-point performance vs. Sunrise Christian Academy

PERSONAL

  • Son of Chris and Mikisha Wright
  • Has a sister, Kiana
  • His advice to young people is “believe in yourself, or nobody else will, everyone’s journey is different.”
  • Chose South Carolina because “it feels like home, the family environment. I felt like I fit the system, and I felt like the coaching staff and style fit me. I wanted to play at the highest level in the SEC.”
