COLUMBIA, SC – South Carolina junior midfielder Melinda Carter was named to the NSCAA Coaches All-South Regional Team on Thursday afternoon. The junior from Plano, Texas made the All-South Third Team. Carter served as co-captain this year and finished with three goals and four assists for the Gamecocks.

Carter came back strong in the 2001 season after missing most of the 2000 season with a leg injury. Carter will return to Carolina next season for her senior year and will also return as captain, along with junior Becky Leeper. This is Carter’s second year on the All-South Region Team.
