In the first day of the Weems Baskin Sprint Relays, South Carolina won three events.
Lori Tvarkunas won the pole vault with a height of 11′ 0. Freshman Rachel Farabee was the runner-up at 10′ 6.
Chris Vanderbrink won the hammer with a toss of 170′ 11.
The women’s 4x300m relay was also victorious with the ladies coming across the finish line at 2:34.07.
Scott Alsup was the runner-up in the men’s javelin with a toss of 178′ 7.
USC’s women were second in the 4x1200m relay at 15:00.38.
Rashida Abdul-Melik was the runner-up in the triple jump, hitting the pit with a jump of 40′ 4.
Former Gamecock Dawn Ellerbe won the women’s hammer with a toss of 211′ 7.
