Columbia, S. C. – Jordan Quinn and Ryan Daley each scored a goal in the last ten minutes of action to give the Gamecocks a 2-0 victory over the Cal State Fullerton Titans at the UCLA Invitational in Los Angeles. South Carolina Improves to 9-3-1, while Cal State Fullerton falls to 5-7-1.
In the first half of play, South Carolina outshot the Titans 5-3, but could not reach the back of the net. The scoreless match continued in the second half until the 80th minute when Quinn scored off a pass from Daley. While in the goal box Quinn headed the ball past goalkeeper Jeff McKeever to score the game-winning goal.
Daley would score the Gamecock’s insurance goal at 86:02. Freshman Kolby Runager was credited with the assist. South Carolina goalkeeper Michael Bachmeyer tallied two saves en route to posting his fourth shutout of the season.
USC plays its second match of the UCLA Invitational Sunday, Oct. 28 at 5:00 p.m. (EST) against host UCLA.
