The South Carolina track and field team will be hosting the 2002 South Carolina State Collegiate Track and Field Championships tomorrow, April 10th at the Weems Baskin Track Facility. This will be the final track meet hosted by USC this season.

Field events start at 2:30 p.m. with the Hammer throw while track events will kick off at 4:00 p.m., let by the 3,000m Steeplechase.

Schools competing in the scored meet will include Benedict College, Charleston Southern University, Coastal Carolina University, Francis Marion College, Morris College, Newberry College, South Carolina State University, The Citadel, Voorhees College, Wofford College, and the host school, the University of South Carolina.

The Gamecocks are looking to build on last week’s outstanding performance at the Gatorade Classic in Knoxville, TN where the men finished third and the women placed second, only eight points behind winner Florida.

Admission is free to the public.
