GAINESVILLE, Fla. –
The South Carolina men’s and women’s swimming and diving teams will travel south to Charleston for a 5 p.m. dual meet at the College of Charleston on Friday evening.
South Carolina enters this weekend’s meet coming off the SEC East Challenge two weeks ago, where both the men’s and women’s teams placed fourth. South Carolina also defeated Kentucky in dual meet competition at the SEC East Challenge in both the men’s and women’s competition.
Carolina also looked strong on the women’s side, especially in the freestyle. Freshman Heather Skaggs took home individual titles in the 100 and 200 freestyle vs. Kentucky and Tennessee. Sophomore Anna Nyiry also garnered an indvidual win vs. Tennessee in the 50 freestyle. Newcomer Carolynn McHugh won the 50 freestyle vs. Kentucky. Freshman Capi Adams also earned two first place finishes in the 200 and 400 IM.
Carolina will return to the Carolina Natatorium next Saturday, Nov. 3 with a 9 a.m. dual meet vs. N.C. State.
