The South Carolina women’s golf team moved into a tie for fourth place with a score of 306 in today’s second round action for a two-day total of 609 at the LSU/Cleveland Golf Classic. Auburn remains on top of the team competition firing a 289 on Saturday, giving them a two-day score of 579.
Defending SEC Champion Kristy McPherson again led the Lady Gamecocks on Saturday firing a one-over 73 for a two day total of 145, good enough for fifth place. Sophomore Adrienne Gautreaux is also in the top 10 firing a three-over 75 (148) putting her in ninth place. The remaining of the Lady Gamecocks scoring was junior Kacy Thompson with a 77 (154, T23rd), sophomore Marci Robinson with an 81 (162, T50th), and senior Reetta Laakkonen with an 82 (165, T58th).
Auburn leads LSU who fired a 293 on Saturday for a two-day total of 590. Vanderbilt remains in third place with a 608, just one stroke ahead of Tulane and South Carolina. Three other SEC teams are currently in the top 10.
Celeste Troche of Auburn is now all alone in first place firing a two-under 70 for a total of 141 (three-under par). Meredith Duncan of LSU is in second place firinga one-under 71 for a total of two-under 142. Kingsley Barrett of Auburn and Lindy Hitdlebaugh of LSU are in a tie for third place with a two-day score of 144. Kristy McPherson of South Carolina rounds out the top five.
